about

[commentary track]
Irwin Joseph, the villain of our story, formed Modern Films Distributors in 1950 with Kroger Babb and two other showmen, Floyd Lewis and Gidney Talley, to co-distribute their respective sex hygiene films. Because Joseph owned only one film and was new at the showman game, he was elected to be the managing partner of the group and run the office while the other three kept to the road.

By 1959, when our story begins, Joseph had become an omniscient, number-crunching superspy, constantly sniffing out any scams they might be pulling.

Which were many.

lyrics

He's in Chicago. He's out the window. He's right beside you, writing down every dollar that you spend. He's Irwin. Irwin the accountant.

Ignore him. Don't ignore him. Pay attention to him. Don't pay attention to him. He's Irwin the accountant, and he's oh so ordinary. He's not that ordinary. He's everywhere.

He's under the bed. He's over your head. He's right beside you, writing down every dollar that you spend.

Ignore him. Don't ignore him. Pay attention to him. Don't pay attention to him. He's Irwin the accountant, and he's oh so ordinary. He's not that ordinary. He's everywhere.
